How many times will you see the detail in the model ?
- If you are going to see the condition more than once, create in 3D model
- If you are need to see the detail condition only once, create in 2D detail
What scale are you drawing your detail in ?
- A good rule of thumb is to draft all the detail 1:10 and large
How good are you at using Revit ?
- If you are first use of Revit, modeling the detail is complicated, draft it
- Take on modeling the complex detail in the next project
