Interface

Quick Access Toolbar

Access to commonly used commands, such as Open, Save, Undo, Redo, Dimension, 3D view

Application Menu


Access to file commands, settings and documents

Ribbon


Contains tools in a series of tabs and panels
The panel contain a variety of commands


When start a command, or select an element
Ribbon displays Modify|contextual tab

Options bar


Displays options that are related to the selected command or element

Properties palette


Make extensive modifications to views and elements
Parameters that can be set for individual element

Type Properties
Properties palette - Edit Type - Type Properties


Parameters that are common to all of the elements in a specific family
If you modify these parameters, all elements of the same type change 

Project Browser


List the views that can be opened in the software

View Control bar


Control aspects of that view, such as Scale, Detail Level, Hide/ Isolaate Elements

Status bar


Provides information about current process


Terminology


Host
Build-in-place construction elements
They can standalone in the project
Such as Floors, Walls, Roofs, Ceilings, Stair, Ramps

Components
Elements that need to ne attached to host elements
Such as Doors, Windows, Railings
As well as stand alone items - Furniture , Equipment

Views
Display and manipulate the project
Such as Fkoor Plan, Ceiling Plan, Elevation, Section, Schedule, 3D view

Datum
Elements that define the project context
Such as Level, Grid, Reference Plane

Annotation
2D elements that are placed in views
Such as Dimension, Text, Tag, Symbol
