Add Components

Right-click on 1st Floor plan, Duplicate view - Duplicate
Rename - 1st Floor Furniture Plan
Hide all annotations, floor and grids
Architecture tab > Build panel > Place a Component
Type Selector - Chair - Corbu



Place Corbu chair at the curve curtain wall lobby area

Activate 1st Floor
Corbu chairs display in this view also
Type "VG"
Turn off Casework, Furniture, Furniture System, Planting, Site

Activate 1st Floor Furniture Plan
Architecture tab > Build panel > Place a Component
Mode panel > Load Family
Furniture folder
M_Sofa-Pensi, M_Table-Coffee, M_Table-Dinning Round w Chairs.rfa
Planting folder
M_RPC Plant-Tropical.rfa, M_RPC Tree-Tropical.rfa
Site\ Accessories folder
M_Planter.rfa

Arrange the components as desired:

M_Table-Dinning Round w Chairs 0915mm Dia




M_Planter 1200 x 1200mm, M_Sofa-Pensi 2134mm, M_Table-Coffee 0787 x 0711 x 0610mm\

Zoom-in to the office near the elevator
Architecture tab > Build panel > Place a Component
Mode panel > Load Family
Exercise file - Class Library folder - M_Countertop-Lobby.rfa
Properties palettes - Offset: 340



Place the component on top of the partial height wall
Use the control on the right-end to modify the length


Add Elevator Component

Repeat the component command
Exercise file - Class Library folder - M_Elevator-Door-Center-M.rfa, M_Elevator-Electric.rfa
Type Selector - M_Elevator-Electric: 1150kg
Place the component in the shaft opening


Type Selector - M_Elevator-Door-Center: 1050 x 2100mm
Place the door at the center of the front wall

Copy the door to the rest of the floor
Select the door, Clipboard panel > Copy > Paste - Aligned to Selected Level


Select 2nd ~ 8th Floor

Add Column Footing

Activate T.O. Footing
Show the column grids
Hide the floor of T.O. Footing
Hover the centerline of exterior wall, tab-select the floor
Change the Underlay to 1st Floor

Architecture tab > Build panel > Component
Mode panel > Load Family
Structure folder\ Foundation folder\ M_Footing-Rectangular.rfa
Type Selector - 1800 x 1200 x 450mm



Place and copy the columns as shown

Select all Poolhouse Footings
Properties palettes - Level: 1st Floor, Offset: -300

Creating Ceiling

Ceiling grids are typically added to areas bounded by walls and are centered in the space

Ceiling grids are typically added to area bounded by walls, and centered in space



Ceiling plans are typically created by default for every level



Automatic Ceiling

Elements like wall, floor, ceiling and roof, have a Room Bounding parameter
It's turn on by default, and define areas and volumes

Automatic Ceiling uses this parameter to identify walls that set the outline of a ceiling
Architecture tab > Build panel > Ceiling
Ceiling panel > Automatic Ceiling



Move the cursor to the area bound by walls


Click inside to create a ceiling

Sketch Ceiling

Add a ceiling to part of the room
Architecture tab > Build panel > Ceiling
Ceiling panel > Sketch Ceiling



Draw panel > Line


Sketch a closed loop for the ceiling


Mode panel > Finish

Modify Ceiling

Modify the Boundary

Select any grid line



Edit the boundary by modify commands


Mode panel > Finish

Move the Grid Lines

Select any grid line


Use the arrow keys to move up, down, left or right
Or use the move command and input the distance

Rotate the Grid Lines

Select any grid line
Modify panel > Rotate



Click for the start ray


Rotate and input the angle


Soffit - Ceiling

Ceiling Soffit is part of the ceiling that have been lowered


It connect 2 ceilings in different heights

Light Source Display - Ceiling

Light fixtures come with the software include types that specify the voltage of the lamp
Light fixtures also can display the light source
Type "VG" to display the Visibility/ Graphic Override dialog box



Check the Light Source



The light source display the true strength in rendering
