Worksharing Overview

When a project become too big for one person, it needs to be subdivided to different members work on it
A project needs to be separated into logical components, without losing the connection to the whole

Worksharing is a design method that allows multiple team members to work on the same project model at the same time
Tha main components are workset

When worksets are established in a project, there is one central file and many local files as needed for each team member to have a file
The central file is created by BIM Manager and stored on a server, enabling multiple users to access
The local file is a copy of central file stored on your computer
Everytime individual local file saved back to central file, server will send out the updated central file to other local files
All changes remain in one file, all parts of the project, model, views and sheets are automatically updated

On many projects, team members are assigned a specific functional area to work on
