Keynote - Detailing

Keynotes are special kinds of tags that apply specific numbering to various elements in a detail

This number link to a list of standard notes that in a consistent maner for all the elements

They can be used on all model and detail elements, as well as materials
Keynote designations are based on CSI Master Format system
 

Keynotes requires less room than standard text notes

Keynote tags must be loaded before use
 

ProgramData\Autodesk\RAC 2013\Libraries\US Metric\Annotations

There are 3 types of Keynote:

Element Keynote: tag elements like door, window, wall, detail component
Material Keynote: materials assigned to a component in a family
User Keynote: user defined note, the only note not linked to any elements

Place a Keynote

Annotate tab > Tag panel > Keynote - Element Keynote


If no keynote assigned to the element, a blank keynote appear


Pick 3 points to place the keynote


Select the keynote

Keynote Settings

Annotate tab > Tag panel expand > Keynoting Settings


Set the Keynote Table and path


Default Keynote Table:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RAC 2013\Libraries\US Imperial\RevitKeynotes_Metric.txt

Keynote Legend

A table containing the information stored in the keynote that place on the sheet

View tab > Create panel > Keynote Legend


Input the name for Keynote Legend


Accept the default fields


Switch to Filter tab


Check Filter by Sheet
