Creating Roof by Extrusion

Create in an elevation or section by defining a profile sketch

Activate South Elevation
Zoom in to the front entrance
Architecture tab > Build panel > Roof - Roof by Extrusion





Select Pick a plane

Select front face of the wall



Level: 2nd Floor

A green dotted reference plane is set at 2nd floor, and the drawing is grayed out




Draw panel > Spline
Sketch the roof profile not above 2nd Floor reference plane
Click Finish

Properties palettes - Extrusion End: 1850
Type Selector - Basic Roof: Generic 400mm, Edit Type - Duplicate


Name: Generic - 230mm
Edit the Structure Thickness to 230 mm


Change to 3D view


Modify Extruded Roof

Activate Site Plan
This view display the entire building in plan including all of the roofs
Hide the Grid Lines and Elevation Marks

Select the roof


Drag the control to the length of 3500

Opening panel > Vertical


Draw panel > Rectangle


Create a rectangle cutout of the roof
So the roof does not pass through the building
Click Finish


Change to 3D view
